Winners of Ella books

Hello hello! I meant to do this earlier in the day, but uh, I forgot. Sorry!

Let's not dwell on my mistakes. Moving on to the winners...

I had help picking the winners from my little imp. He folded the little pieces of paper, and picked the names. Good, helpful imp.

Oh, his wrist looks gigantic from this angle. Kinda creepy.

Thanks for the giveaway I would love the journaling book since that is how I waste so much time trying to journal my pages. Congrats on being selected to the Dream Team!

I'd like the BOY book please. Mostly because your work is in it. And I'm not even kissing your booty by saying that ;)

Giveaway! Giveaway!

I was imagining me, kinda like Paul Revere, riding through town yelling "GIVEAWAY! GIVEAWAY!"

Yeah. Bad mental image. Sorry.

So, onto the goods!

Ella's Essential Guide to Scrapbooking Boys. What a choice book. I wrote a bit about it here, and have some free downloads that I used for my layouts here.

And then, the equally awesome Journaling That Matters book.
What makes these books so great? My work is in them, of course!

OK. Fine. Just kidding. What makes them great are the incredible layouts/ideas/tips inside each book. Stumped for what to write on your layout? Flip (in an e-flip sort of way) through the Journaling book, and you'll be de-stumped. Out of ideas on how to scrapbook manly pages? Check out the Boy book, and you'll find one that fits your needs. Pretty cool, eh?

I have TWO (yes, 2) copies of the Journaling book, and TWO (2 again) copy of the Boy book to give away. Please leave me a comment saying which book you'd rather have (or if you don't care because you just want a book, ANY book), and I'll pick four winners on Friday. Because that's a good way to end the week. Good luck!

(And as usual, please check back to see if you are the winner. Blogger does not allow me to see your email address.)
(Oh, and that would be me and my biggest on the cover of the Journaling book. Now that's hot!)

eta: I'll pick a winner Friday night, and post it Saturday.

I've closed the comments now (5:37PM ET). I'm running around like crazy today, but I'll be back in a few hours to pick a winner!

Lost: The Layouts

Ha! They weren't actually lost. But they were either published in Creating Keepsakes, or in a book, or in the Ella blog a while back. So it's time to share them here. (By the way, I might be the only person in the world to have never watched a single episode of Lost. Should I rent the whole shebang and watch it from the beginning? Mel, I know what you are going to say.)

I love this layout. It's not my usual style, but it features photos of me and my dad, and those are rare. We were just goofing around with my iPhone when he last visited. My parents live abroad, so I don't see them often.

As seen in the August 2010 issue of Creating Keepsakes magazine.
Copyright Creative Crafts Group. Posted with prior permission from the publisher.
This layout was created for my friend Barb's challenge for the Ella blog. She challenged a few scrappers to use up old stash (you can read the article here.) I have a lot of old stash.
This next one was also for an Ella blog post. I asked Jenn and Cindy to create a layout about/inspired by a favorite blog.
And lastly, a layout I created for Ella's Stretch Your Sketches book. Have I shared how much I love that book? A lot! That Donna Jannuzzi knows her shizz. It's one of my favorite Ella books. So very useful.
And that is that.  I'm currently working on Mosh Posh's October kit. Pretty groovy. I'll be back in a few days to share some sneak peeks.

So Excited!

The Essential Guide to Scrapbooking Boys is out! And I'm ridiculously excited about it, not only because I contributed a few layouts to it, but because those are some of the best layouts I've created so far. Really! Plus, my middlest is featured in the page of content. He's going to be so stoked to see that.
Here is a peek at one of my layouts (you can get a closer look by clicking on the photo).
I'm also going to be sharing the form I used in the layout above, and the labels I used in another layout. Come by later this week for those. I gotta get them prepped and uploaded (you'd think it would have occurred to me to do that months ago. But not really.)

Awesome Book Giveaway

Is it "giveaway" or "give away"?

Anyway.

Ella Publishing just came out with this super cute book about scrapbooking girls. I've read it and love it. And while this is a girl specific book, I think all the ideas can be easily adapted for boy layouts. If nothing else, it's filled with some pretty great eye candy by some of my favorite scrappers.

And I have one to giveaway (give away)! Woohoo! Drop me a comment, and I'll pick a winner by next Wednesday.
BTW, please check back to see if you won. I can't see everyone's email, so I won't be able to email you if you win. Thanks!

It's all about boys

The August Ella ezine, Ellaments, is out. And I have an article in it. An article about what I know well: boys! In it, there are some amazing, stereotype busting layouts by some of my boys-only mommy friends, Melanie Louette, Barb Wong, Séverine Di Giacomo, and Sarah Klemish. I was so lucky these gals agreed to do layouts for me in such short notice. Thank you ladies!

And in September, there will be an ebook from Ella called Ella’s Essential Guide to Scrapbooking Boys. I was so happy to be included in the book, alongside Kelly Goree, Wendy Smedley, Celeste Smith, and Georgana Hall. Together, we have 14 boys. Fourteen! Yeah. Makes me want to Febreeze the entire house, and then take a nap.
