Lawn Fawn: March Inspiration Week

Hey there! We are in the middle of Lawn Fawn's March Inspiration Week. There's so much good stuff: tons of projects and a whole lot of giveaways!

Here are my two projects for this week. Two layouts featuring the new Let's Polka line. It's not all polka dots, but it's a mixture of dots (big and small), diagonal stripes and hearts. And the dots and hearts were hand-drawn for that whimsical Lawn Fawn touch.

The first one is about my middlest and youngest, who tend to fight the most. But I suspect they love each the most too. It's a very clean and simple layout that I created by using the Stitched Journaling Card die set from Lawn Fawn. The flair and flower sequins are from the same line. The title and journaling were created with a Silhouette Cameo. I did the Cameo die cutting first. And then I die cut that out with the journaling die. The heart is from Large Stitched Journaling Card set. Some quick machine stitching, and I was done!

The last one is even simpler with just one photo, some die cutting, a flair, and some gold thread stitching. Quick! But I love how it turned out. Lawn Fawn has this adorable raindrop die from the Spring Showers set. For this layout, I used this freebie. I modified it a bit using the Cameo. But you can easily use the Spring Shower die with a bigger die cut machine (something wider like a Spellbinder or a Big Shot Pro), or die cut a bunch of raindrops and glued them to your background paper.

Lawn Fawm + Timeless Twine

Still catching up…

Last week, the Lawn Fawn team did a blog hop with the folks from Timeless Twine. So much good stuff. Who doesn't love twine! And they have such cute color combos.

My card is pretty simple. I started by using a pre-printed green polka dot card from Lawn Fawn's new Freshly Cut Notecards. I cut the bottom using the Speech Bubble die (totally ripped this idea off fellow Fawnie Elena - she's super amazing!) I lined the inside of the card with a bit of a striped pink paper from the Let's Polka Petite Paper Pack. The sentiment is from Flying By (one of my favorite all times sets). The adorable bird is from the #awesome set. The heart and swirl (behind the bird) are from Hello Sunshine set. Must confess I've used that bird and swirl combo a few times now… Sharing one more usage tomorrow.

The bird and the heart ballon are adhered with pop up dots. The cute pink+red twine is tucked behind them. I finished the card with a little epoxy dot on the balloon (My Mind's Eye). And that's the scoop!

Technique Tuesday: Green Week!

Oh how time flies. Lots to catch up!

For today, I'm sharing a card for Technique Tuesday. As you may know, next Monday is St Patrick's Day. So this week, TT is featuring green projects!

Here's my card, which was inspired by Paige Evans and her awesome layered layouts. Love how she's fearless with pattern paper combos.

I used the Nested Hearts die set and a bunch of different green patterned papers to cut out the three different size hearts. I didn't think I had that much green stuff, but as it turns out, there was at least one sheet in each mini paper pad I own (I have a lot of those).

The heart with the U and the arrow are from Heart Card die set.

The bottom two hearts are glued together, and the arrow is adhered with a pop-up dot and then the smaller hearts. So easy! Perfect to show someone love on St Patrick's Day.

Technique Tuesday: February Studio AE Blog Hop

Super cute, right? I love that it has a solid stamp, so you can add background color to the flags. Or, as I did in this layout, I used the solid flag stamp alone to create those little colorful ones below the photo.

Technique Tuesday: CHA W-2014

Hey there! Belated Happy New Year! We spent the two weeks the kids had off in Texas, hanging out with family. I didn't take lots of photos, didn't go anywhere, didn't do much. We just spent time hanging out (and eating) with family and old friends, and it was the best.

Then we came back. And then school and work restarted. And here we are: CHA time!

This is a layout I created for Technique Tuesday using a new set from Ali Edwards called Geotags.

Geotags have been really popular for a while now, and this set combines that with Ali's famous handwriting and some great circle tags. The circles can be cut using an 1" punch.

By the way, all those photos were taken with an iPhone. It's amazing how good phone photos are these days! From top to bottom: Pier in Hanalei (Kauai), Organ Mountains in Las Cruces (New Mexico), Glaciers in Greenland, Zebras in Cambria (California), Golden Gate Bridge (California)

I made this layout by printing all the photos on one sheet of photo paper. Then rest was super easy. I stamped the circles on white card stock, and embossed them with silver embossing powder. Then I adhered them to the page with pop up dots. I finished by stamping the sentiment (also from the set) with black ink.

I really like how it turned out. It's simple, it's clean, it's me.

Lawn Fawn: December New Stamp Launch

Hello there! It's been a while since I've blogged. Something about the holiday season that makes me forget I have a blog. Hah!

This week, Lawn Fawn is introducing a bunch of new stamps, which are, of course, super cute! You can see everything on the Fawny blog.

I made a couple of cards for this week.

The Yeti one is actually really quick to make. The flowers are from an older set called On The Mend. Lawn Fawn just launched the matching dies. So now it's super easy to stamp and cut those shapes out. The flowers I used are actually in a vase. I didn't stamp the vase part. But I did use the die to cut the whole thing out. I then drew the stems with a black marker, and cut around the stems. Added a little Lawn Trimming as a ribbon to "tie" the bouquet together.

This card is also easy to make. Just a little more time consuming due to the hand stitching. I used Kreinik's Metallic Blending Filament in silver. You can easily find those in Joann's or Michael's. In the embroidery section. So pretty and shiny! The sentiment is from the Peace Joy Love patterned paper line. It's a tag in a sheet full of tags. The sequins are a mix of Peace Joy Love and Into The Woods.

Lawn Fawn: Therm-O-Web Week

Happy Friday, everyone! Lawn Fawn joined forces with Therm-O-Web this past week, and here's what I created for this event.

I think I've mentioned before that I'm not a glitter person. But I do like gold. And gold glitter is so appropriate for all things Christmas and New Year! Therm-O-Web has this super cool spray called Glitter Dust, which is basically glitter in a can. Use it in a very ventilated place, like the great outdoors. Or you'll be sorry. The smell is a bit strong and it lingers... But it dries really fast, and the glitter does not come loose! I initially sprayed it on white cardstock, but then I noticed that the shipping container I was using as a spray box looked even more amazing. Gold glittered kraft paper! Is there such thing on the market? If not, someone needs to make it. Stat!

Then I stamped the trees from the Sweet Christmas set, colored them in, and cut them out. The sentiment is from Let It Snow. And it's stamped on paper from the Peace Joy Love pad. All these pieces are popped up with some 3D Foam Squares.

A Very Fawny Holiday Week

Hello friends! Lawn Fawn is currently featuring holiday projects all week. And the awesome folks from Lawnscaping have joined us in the fun.

Here's my little project. I used two sets to create this, Winter Owl (one of my all time favorites!) and Trim The Tree. I also used the matching die to Winter Owl.

What I did:
Embossing ink works so beautifully on kraft paper. I used Versamark to stamp all those cute little hearts, gingerbread person, presents, and candy canes. I saved a few hearts to ink with Clearsnap Colorbox Pigment Ink in Scarlet. The kraft paper, by the way, is from Joann's, and it's the real thing! Not a paper printed like kraft. This one is like a grocery store bag. Which I love!

The owl was stamped using Versafine and colored in with Letraset Promarker. The sentiment was stamped using Clearsnap Colorbox Pigment Ink in Frost White. It really is the best white ink I've ever used. It stamps nice and opaque.

Technique Tuesday: Holiday Layout

Hi there! Happy Tuesday! Today I'm sharing one of my favorite layouts. I made this for Technique Tuesday using the  Peace & Joy stamps by Ali Edwards, and its matching die. I really love this set of stamps. It's like the Favorite Stories one that sold out and just got re-released. Love those too! (I made this layout using the Favorite Stories stamps.)

This is a clean and simple layout and it features one of my most favorite photo shoots with my kids.

My youngest was about 3 months old, and I was obsessed with having a Christmas card photo featuring the three of them in Santa hats. So I bought three hats, popped the kids against a dark background, and called my husband for help. You can see his hand on the lower left. Then I started shooting. I must have taken over 100 photos. Only one was "perfect" for a card. But my favorites were really the outtakes. So many adorable moments. When I was looking for holiday photos to scrap, I saw this one and it brought back so many memories! This was 8 years ago! It's been such a long time, and yet, it feels like it was just last month. Oh, how I wish I could bottle up these moments.

The awesome hearts patterned paper is from a company called Ruby Rock-It. I've been hoarding this sheet for years. I even looked online for more, but alas, I didn't find any. The gold paper is from DCWV. The red outlined sticker is from October Afternoon. And the Totally Love stamp is from Technique Tuesday's Just Awesome Tabs by Ali Edwards. Black ink is Versafine (my fave!), and the thread is DMC.

I'm not a huge fan of glitter. But glitter is so good with holiday pages and cards. And lately, I've been painting my nails glittery because I found out that it doesn't require a very steady hand. Glitter is super forgiving. You really can't see any dings or chips.

So it just happened that while I was working on this page, I noticed that my nails matched my layout! This is a first for me! Yup, I'm taking my scrapbooking to the next level. (I grammed it, of course!)

Lawn Fawn: Playing Catch Up

I have a few Lawn Fawn projects that I've been meaning to share.

This first layout uses Into The Woods line. This is quite possibly my most favorite Lawn Fawn line (so far.) The wood grain, the little speech bubbles, the colors! All so good!

I cut those speech bubbles out of the patterned paper, and the arrow on the upper left is embossed in gold (American Crafts Zing!). Gold embossing powder is the best! The arrow and the little hearts are from the stamp set that matches the papers. That set also has the cutest acorn ever!

That's my middle child wearing the Toad costume I made him 5 years ago, before Toad costumes were commercially available for purchase. I love that costume. I felt so accomplished. Everywhere we went, people would start to hum the Super Mario Bros tune. Totally hilarious.

This other layout also uses a little bit of Into The Woods paper and stamps (I *heart* Fall). The best part? The title was created with Cole's ABC dies! The leaf is also a die from a great Fall set called Stitched Leaves.

Oh, how I miss this pumpkin patch back in Pennsylvania. It was definitely The Most Sincere Pumpkin Patch in the world.
