Lawn Fawn: October Inspiration Week!

Hey there! Lawn Fawn is having its October Inspiration Week right now. That means lots of cards and layouts to share. And lots of giveaways!

This month, Lawn Fawn is featuring everything Winter and Christmas! Here are two projects I created.

patterned paper: Lawn Fawn Fa-la-la / twine: Lawn Fawn Lawn Trimmings / alpha stickers: Lawn Fawn Bright Side / cardstock: Bazzill / diecut system: Silhouette Cameo / font: p22 Typewriter

I really love these photos from Christmas morning. We don't give our kids huge amounts of presents. We try to keep it to a few they really want. And one or two surprises. We also try to emphasize graciousness when receiving a present. And it's working out so nicely! We've never had a disappointed kid on Christmas Morning (Thank goodness! And knock on wood!). We also emphasize giving more than receiving. That's a work-in-progress... To make this layout, I cut the presents out of the Oh What Fun paper, and tied little bows with assorted Lawn Trimmings (more about the Trimmings in a bit).

patterned paper: Lawn Fawn Fa-la-la Petite Paper Pack / stamps:  And A Partridge + A Birdie Told Me / ink: Tsukineko Versafine in  Onyx Black, Technique Tuesday Leaf Green Ink + Red Ink / twine: Lawn Fawn Lawn Trimmings

The card is another possible Christmas card for us. This photo was actually our Christmas photo a few years ago. So I am going to need a new photo. Always an unhappy project for us all. Sigh. I used the 6"x6" pad for this. And some more Lawn Trimmings!

So. Yes. Lawn Trimmings. Love that stuff. It's made of hemp, it's biodegradable, and still scrapbook safe. It's so different from cotton twine. It's got more body, holds its shape really well, and it doesn't fray. How awesome is that? I've always had trouble getting cotton twine to uncurl, and to stick down straight because it's so floppy. Lawn Trimmings sticks down straight so easily! Super easy to tie bows with!

Now, go to Lawn Fawn's blog, leave a comment on each of the days of the Inspiration Week for many chances to win a bunch of stamps, and the Fa-la-la Collection!

Thanks for stopping by!

Hi Linda, I wanted to come over and tell you how much I love both your Christmas Morning layout and your Christmas card. I love that you have a simple but very meaningful Christmas morning with your family. We have a daughter and a son, so we have worked very hard to keep them humble and know what Christmas is truly about, yet let them enjoy getting the one think that they really want and that they will remember in 6 months what they got and not just be done with it. Does that make any sense? lol... Anyway, I am much like you that there is always a surprise or two thrown in for the fun of it as well. Us Mom's have to have fun too right? Love, love your card and if my Hubby would agree (he is worse than the kids 14 & 15 years old) I would love to have a family picture to send out for a Christmas card. Hmmmm, maybe I could make that my Christmas gift from the three of them. Do you think they'd buy that? Anyway, wanted to let you know that your projects have really just made me happy and enjoy enjoy the idea that all of this is just around the corner. Have a super weekend. Hugs, Lisa G
